Working with NDIS

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care clients are a specialty and I have a lot of experience working with clients presenting with various disability-related challenges that can cause their spaces to become dysfunctional or unhelpful. My counselling service, Illyarrie Counselling, aims to help them achieve their goals around their relationship with their belongings through counselling therapy, exploring the causes of their problems and finding ways to change behaviours and mindset to enact change in their environment.

I also work with clients who have counselling needs around living with a disability and the challenges that can present.

My counselling methods are primarily person-centred, solutions-focused therapy. I also utilise CBT, ACT and Motivational Interviewing depending on the situation, the client’s needs and their goals.

I have experience working with people who have autism, BPD, bi-polar disorder, anxiety, depression, ADHD, hoarding disorder, Tourette Syndrome, PTSD, complex trauma, dementia, brain injuries, vision impairment, hearing impairment, post-polio, physical disability and physical differences.

For children with NDIS plans, I work with both the child and/or the parent, depending on the family’s needs.

I can work with self-managed or plan-managed participants of NDIS, and am always happy to cooperate with health professionals and support services to ensure the client has all of their needs met and their goals achieved.

If you have an NDIS plan

If you are self- or plan-managed, and you have relevant goals in your plan, you can very likely claim my services through NDIS. You can find out more about how I work here.

Unfortunately I can’t work with NDIA-managed participants, sorry about that.

If you have a Support Coordinator, send them a link to this website for more information on referrals. If you do your own support coordination, feel free to get in touch and we can chat about how I might help.

For Support Coordinators

I’m happy to chat any time with Support Coordinators, Social Workers, Plan Managers, LACs and others about helping their clients get the support they need.

You can get in touch here and we can chat about whether I can meet your client’s needs, or I can give advice or refer on to a more appropriate support if need be.
