Counselling for Professional Organisers

As a Professional Organiser or Declutter Coach, you understand the complexities of the work we do. The challenges can extend beyond the physical aspect of decluttering and organising to include emotional and psychological dimensions.

My specialised counselling services for Professional Organisers are designed to address these unique needs, providing you with the support and guidance necessary to thrive in this rewarding and challenging profession.

I recognise that the emotional aspects of decluttering, managing client relationships, and maintaining work-life balance can significantly impact our wellbeing.

I am here to help you navigate these challenges and cultivate a fulfilling and sustainable career and personal life

Who does it help?

Sometimes, you just need someone to talk to.

My counselling services for Professional Organisers encompass a range of areas. Taking a person-centred and strengths-based approach, I can help with:

  • Burnout Prevention and Self-Care: After 18 years as a Declutter Coach, I certainly understand that the demands of the profession can sometimes lead to burnout and exhaustion. Through our counselling sessions, we’ll explore strategies for self-care, stress management, and maintaining a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can continue to thrive in your career.

  • Emotional Resilience and Boundaries; You may encounter clients with diverse emotional needs or challenging situations. We’ll work together to develop emotional resilience, effective communication skills, and healthy boundary-setting techniques, allowing you to navigate client interactions with confidence and professionalism.

  • Career Development and Personal Growth: I can  provide a space for you to explore your professional goals, and identify areas for growth, and skill enhancement using your unique strengths and “You-ness”.

  • Anxiety or Psychological Barriers: If you find yourself experiencing anxiety or other barriers that prevent you from taking action or that may hinder your clients’ progress, I can help. We’ll work collaboratively to identify the underlying causes, develop effective coping strategies, and empower you to overcome these obstacles for yourself and your clients.

  • Client Relationship Dynamics: Building and maintaining strong client relationships is crucial in the world of professional organising. Our counselling sessions can assist you in navigating complex client dynamics, managing expectations, and fostering effective communication, enabling you to establish long-lasting and positive client connections.

  • Personal life issues: If there are any other issues in your life that you want to work through, these can be addressed. It doesn’t have to be about your work! It could be about personal relationships or any other concerns you have.

We go into this business to help people, but sometimes we need help too.

How does it work?

The first session is a bit different to subsequent sessions, as we’ll need to cover off some admin stuff, and then I’ll need to learn all about you and why you’re seeking counselling.

In that session I aim to:

  • Help you feel comfortable and safe
  • Explain how the counselling process works, as well as my therapeutic approach, policies and procedures
  • Gain your consent to engage in the services
  • Learn all about you and your experiences through asking questions and having you share with me
  • Discuss your challenges and why you’re seeking support
  • Answer any questions you have about the counselling process
  • Create a counselling plan for moving forward

In subsequent sessions, we work on achieving your goals, all the while assessing progress and making any changes that might be necessary.
