Counselling

Everyone deserves the opportunity to grow, find balance, and live a fulfilling life. Whether you’re dealing with personal challenges, navigating complex relationships, or simply seeking self-discovery, I’m here to guide you on your personal journey.

During our sessions, you can expect a non-judgmental and supportive environment where you can freely express yourself. My person-centred, strengths-based approach is tailored to your specific needs, combining evidence-based techniques with warmth and understanding.

Counselling sessions can be conducted in person or via Zoom and are open to everyone.

I take pride in offering a completely inclusive service, including being culturally sensitive, neuro-affirming and LGBTQI++ safe.

Who does it help?

Sometimes, you just need someone to talk to.

My counselling service is helpful for anybody who identifies with one or more of these situations or circumstances:

  • Experiencing overwhelming emotions, stress, or anxiety that impact daily life.
  • Struggling with relationship issues, whether it’s with a partner, family member, or friend.
  • Navigating major life transitions, such as career changes, marriage, parenthood, or loss.
  • Dealing with unresolved emotional wounds.
  • Experiencing symptoms of depression or persistent sadness.
  • Facing challenges related to self-esteem, self-worth, or personal identity.
  • Seeking personal growth and a deeper understanding of oneself.
  • Desiring to develop healthier coping mechanisms and emotional resilience.
  • Struggling with communication skills and assertiveness.
  • Dealing with grief and loss, and seeking support through the grieving process.
  • Experiencing challenges related to sexuality, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
  • Managing stress, burnout, or work-related issues.
  • Seeking support and guidance in building healthy boundaries and relationships.

How does it work?

The first session is a bit different to subsequent sessions, as we’ll need to cover off some admin stuff, and then I’ll need to learn all about you and why you’re seeking counselling.

In that session I aim to:

  • Help you feel comfortable and safe
  • Explain how the counselling process works, as well as my therapeutic approach, policies and procedures
  • Gain your consent to engage in the services
  • Learn all about you and your experiences through asking questions and having you share with me
  • Discuss your challenges and why you’re seeking support
  • Answer any questions you have about the counselling process
  • Create a counselling plan for moving forward

In subsequent sessions, we work on achieving your goals, all the while assessing progress and making any changes that might be necessary.
